Default LT1 in a 99 C2500

So I've got a 99 C2500 with a bad motor and a 94 Z28 that I've managed to lose the title for and the scrapyards are only offering $350 for it
Therefore I'm planning on swapping the lt1 into the truck along with converting it to us ls coil packs and possibly a carb I'm just wondering if any of y'all have any advice on making this easier

Part out the LT1 donor, buy a replacement engine.

EDIT: nevermind just looked up the standard trans/motor combo for the 99 C2500.

Stick with a replacement motor, junkyards have plenty of GEN III motors available that will drop right in with little head ache compared to reverse engineering a GEN II motor in.

You would have to redo the fuel system (if you wanted a carb), redo the harness (probably still not have the gauges work unless you're creative), and be taking a step backwards motor wise. You'll honestly probably spend more money making an older engine, with less power/torque, work in a platform it was never designed for.

99 Classic? Not sure if you could get the 2500+ in classic. If so its time for a Gen III swap. Already have a Gen III motor in there? Then swapping to the LT1 would be a move of madness, no point.

You could get the classic body in a 2500 or 3500 up to 2000 and the new body starting in 1999. The 3500HD in a classic body was used until 2002.

Sure I can do the swap, for the low low price of $19,999.99. Have I ever done one? Nah, but how hard can it be?

Cool, thanks for the info! I've never been in the market for a 2500+ but at least now if I ever go searching it won't blow my mind seeing a OBS body with a 2001 or 2002 title.

Yeah a lot people didn't realize they went so long lol. You can actually get a 1999 1/2 ton, suburban or tahoe in the OBS as well. Or the rare Tahoe Limited and Z71 up to 2000.

Alright i'm done with facts lol.
