LT1 or LS1?

Good god man! But I see an Iroc-Z on the market too, $8k at 68k miles. I heard somewhere IROC-Zs were some of the best handling Camaros ever made. It does have the lowly 5.0 V8, is it worth the look and time?

Any 1LE or SS 4th gen would spank a IROC in handling as well....not to mention even comparing to the new Z28 or 1LE SS....not even in the same ballpark!

And the IrocZ idea goes out the window

if you decide to get a LT1 car look for a 95-97 car they have a OBG2 PCM they are a lot better for programming. if you look you can buy a car with under 90,000 on the clock for under $3500 mine only has 77,000 miles on it and I paid under $3000 and its very clean! just look for the hidden jewel you will find one. there was a guy on craigslist in minnapolis mn. who had a 1995 Z28 with $88,000 miles for $3200 that's blue book for one

Still, a LS or LT1 would sound better and be more reliable while having more HP potential.

Asking prices are just that....doesn't mean they are selling for $5k. They are probably just fishing for a sucker. ZZperformance did you a favor, the 3800 is not a performance engine unless it's the L67 supercharged version with forged bottom end.....you would likely spend many thousands of dollars to be on par or slower than a LT1. Some guy has a turbo 3800 Firebird one for sale not too far from here who did this:

Putting a turbo on a v6 IMO would be the wrong route to go. If you go threw the hassle of putting a turbo on a stock 200 HP v6 at 8 lbs. of boost you would still make a little less power than a stock ls1. It takes about about 15 lbs of boost to double your hp. In turn you would need forged internals. So that 200 turns into 400 HP at the crank thousands of dollars later and headaches later. Not a good bang for your buck. Cam only ls1's will put down 375+ to the wheels with supporting bolt ons

Funny cause I have an L67 right now that I'm trying to get rid of Good motor, reliable, low mileage car but these W-bodies just can't handle the way I'd like them to handle, that's why I'm going F-body pretty much. The sale is gonna be a tough one though, doesn't seem to have much of a demand for these cars :\

If you could get this one for around $4,500 it would not be to bad
