Default Spark Plugs for Supercharged LT1?

Any one know the right type of plug to use for a supercharged car. ( I want to try Auto Lite.) Im tired of spending money for the "good plugs" and there is no real differance. I have a buddy who has used Auto lite plugs for years and he swears bye them. So i am going to try them out. What heat range plug should i use.

I just pulled all my plugs and checked them and surprisingly they are perfect. I thought that they would be destroyed after a run where my car went to 16.0 air fule ratio. I guess those ngk pluges are worth the money

The consensus seems to be NGK TR6. That's one heat range colder than stock.

I have run the TR6's for a while with my nitrous. I broke one when pulling a header they other day and couldn't get one except to order it in. Well I needed plugs fast, so I found a plug that seems to be readily available at most parts stores and bought a set...

They are Autolite 104's and I gapped them to .040"...

They seem to be the 2nd most recommended compared to NGK TR6's so I assume they work pretty well. I have not been able to test them with my nitrous yet though...

^ I assume you are not running forced induction though correct? The TR-55's are hotter than the 6's and can cause premature detonation if the octane of your fuel is not high enough...

Sounds good to me. I will give them a try next. I usualy go through about 3 sets of plugs a summer. So I will give them a try.

What generally happens when your plugs go fouled. I have never had any go foul, but i just started getting misfires on cylinders 5 and 7, replaced the plug wires, and problem still persist. It's as if the car is not firing on those 2 cylinders. When i go down the street, it will surge horribly, when i give it gas, it stutters but increases in rpms and will spit and pop sometimes. PUlled both the plugs to check but couldnt get replacements so had to put them back in, but one looked perfect and the other had a really fine black coating on it like it wasnt firing. Im assuming its the plugs and I'll change them next, but does that generally happen when plugs go out?

I have TR-55's too. I thought I bought TR-6's but when I was checking a plug one day I discovered they weren't. They seem to work ok with a 175 shot. I wanna go bigger so I will for sure have to get some TR-6's.

I have never had a set go bad. I just replace them often. If the plugs look ok or are new and you still get that missfire. I would check your opti. Do you have any type of ignition box

if it was the opti it would be all of the cylinders misfiring, but its specificall those two cylinders. The plugs have about 12k miles on them with a heads/cam package. I have a blown collector gasket right infront of the O2 sensor which is causing it to run really rich which would explain the fine black powdery soot on the spark plug. I will be buying new plugs this week and change them all to see if that helps at all. On Autotap, all cylinders read 0 misfires except for 5 and 7 which read a considerable amount of misfires.

When my opti first started to go I keept getting a missfire in 2 and 4. I changed wires and plugs and it did not help. This lasted about 1 month then i started to get random misfires then the opti died. Just a thought. I hope the plugs fix it. Good luck
