lol ... i guess ill have to pay full price and have a new one machined and ported ... was thinking about the Fast/RHS single plane efi with rails as a starter platform .. then i guess have AI port match it to my TEA heads and eliminate the t stat housing etc .. any recommendations on an elbow to ls style throttle body or hat for a 4blade as to be able to add a filter and fit my SS hood ? i dont think it gives u any more clearence by the t body on an elbow set up that has a decent transition ? Basically want a better flowing NOS intake , distribution wise .. any thoughts ?

i went to the edelbrock efi intake with a 6061.com 100* elbow and a 102mm ls1 tb. you can run the tb upside down and still use the stock throttle cable also this set up will probably clear a stock hood.

Ultra low profile elbow from edelbrock (its a POS) and a 90mm from edelbrock (its less of a POS)

Throttle cable is a stock LS1 non traction control one, I think.

did any of you happen to look at various intakes from different companies and compare the height of mounting pad / length of runners VS stock hood or SS style camaro hood .. im leaning towards a RHS/Fast efi single plane .. almost looks like it has longer or taller runners than Vic Jr like a super vic or Brodix HV1000 , i have used that style with great results carbed and on spray on other set ups and vehicles ... ? dont really want to cut up my cowl area or have to buy a new hood for the new intake set up .

Yea mine would bolt up to a stock CAI, just would need to fab up the elbow. The ultra low elbow is pretty horrid if you have a NA motor, it flows like crap, but it fits under stock hood. Win some lose some. I would like to switch to a taller elbow and maybe another spacer under it.

The hood will be the first to hit, I have that elbow and a 1 inch spacer under it and plenty of cowl clearance.

FWIW I can verify that a Supervic(1" taller then vic Jr) and an 860 performance or intakeelbows.com elbow will both fit under the cowl, and if you don't mind trimming some plastic you can also squeeze a 1" spacer in there too.

The intakeelbows.com piece is a killer elbow but will be hard to find since they stopped making them, but I think nitrousoutlet will still do the 860 elbows on a made to order basis. The 860 leaves the TB in the stock location so normal CAI's will bolt right up to it.

The low profile one Shownomercy has really is a POS for NA builds, he wasn't lying . Probably not as big a deal when boosted like he is, but I recall a stout LS build gaining something crazy like 40hp just from switching from that low profile edlebrock to a full size elbow. The air has to make a crazy sharp turn with it.

Its retarded, **** expects air to magically flow up, then make some sharp *** bend down and then into the intake. Its on my list of things to replace as soon as I get some more money and the thing is running 100%. As a boosted motor, I could give a **** about it for now
