I do not think so, go to a open empty parking lot, open your door, lean out and turn sharp at slow speed obviously lol and listen for the snap, my guess is it will be distinctly from the rear. In that case the cover has to come off and spider gears and ring and pinion inspected

OK I'll check it out at work next week. It will do the same thing driving straight at an idle too.

You were right I just drove it around a parking lot hanging out of the door and the noise is from the rear. I'll try and pull it apart this week. Hopefully the noise and vibration are related.

Imo I think the vibration is the driveshaft.
Hopefully the rear is fine and you can get by with a fluid change and a couple bottles of additive.

OK I'll shop around for an ls1 driveshaft and let you know what happens. Thanks for all the help so far!
