For an all in one deal, thats not a bad price, however if you can repin your own harness and purchase the DIY kit from BP to convert it for the 411 and coils, source some wrecking yard coils you can build the entire system for under a $1000.00. if you choose the all in plug and play and have a problem down the road it's $500 for their internally repined PCM. thats alot of money for a PCM. and if this system doesnt go over then your looking at repinning your harness for a standard 0411 PCM if you ever have a PCM related problem.

I think the external sensor reluctor setup is easier for some to install, but the internal crank reluctor has proven to be far more reliable for GM. I've replaced a lot of balancers in my career on the 3.8's with the external crank reluctor.

Another perk about this unit, With a EFi 24X if you run a double roller timing chain you have to buy their billet timing cover, With this it shouldn't matter

I'd have to run the numbers to be sure, I think I'm still under $1,000 for my new style 24x kit...with billet timing cover, double roller timing set, coils, and computer. Just need the harness.

Still, I like the simplicity this kit offers for someone who is not mechanically inclined or doesn't have their motor sitting on an engine stand (for years) like I did .

Any updates on this? I haven't come across any consumer info/builds using this setup.

I have this on my car. The only problem I've really run into is finding someone to tune it. It is a LS pcm, but it has the LT1 harness connectors on the outside. Without being able to drive the car to the tuner, a mail order is about the only way to get my running good enough to drive, but they have to be able to load LS style tunes using the old LT1 cables.

You mean you have a OBD1 port when you need a OBD2 port to hook up to a tuners laptop?

The kit comes with an OBDII port and instructions on how to wire it up. I just can't drive the car with the stock tune thats on the PCM.

Ahh OK. Would be worth getting a truck/trailer to get the car to a tuner. Rent a Uhaul setup.
