With the wing and all in the stock MAF I bet the tuning is actually equal in area.

Far as who buys this stuff, I never did but we all do stupid stuff early on.

First thing I bought for my car was a Jacob's Ignition, few months later I had a problem where the motor missed badly before shift at WOT chased it for months, then bypassed the POS ignition and all was good after that. That was $400 wasted on junk ignition and wires and a lot of effort to change plugs and wires all for nothing I was better off without it..........then there was the mistake of the K&N dropin filter and so on.

It may be close to the same area, but I logged it WOT first gear with the tube and without:
Baro for both was 103.7
Readings from 6000rpm

with tube:
Map 98.2
AFGS 240.5

Without tube:
MAP 101.5
AFGS 257.58

that's how it came.. it never really bothered me because i figured if it did come off it would stop at the maf screen.

Still, wtf. it's just a big damn hole that you have to find a cap for.

I noticed a jump in MAP readings too after I ditched the ebay piece.
