Default EWP and pulling MWP drivegear

Is it possiblr to pull the mwp drivegear and bearing out when installing a ewp without taking off the intake manifold? The more I look into installing a meziere ewp the more of a pain in the a$$ it looks like!

No. It's not on the manifold anyway. It's bolted to the block. The shaft has to be pressed out of the housing. There isn't an easier accessory to take off/install than the w/p on a LT1.

I think I worded my question wrong. I meant to say I need to pull that drive gear and shaft out when I install a meziere. Is there an easy way to pull that out without having to take the manifold off? I'm going to change the timing chain and cover gasket anyways.

Weren't you going to do H/C? Do it then. I've read of people just leaving the drive spine in the block when doing a EWP, short term that would probably work.

oic... I've read on here of people somehow fastening a slide hammer and pulling it out that way. I've always just taken the manifold off and tapped it out of the block.

The drive can stay in there, it doesn't matter.
I hammered mine out when the intake/timing cover were both off for a cam swap.

Oh, forgot. The timing cover has to come off, so as stated, leave it on until there is a reason to take the timing cover off.

That slide hammer is a good idea. Are you loosing a few hp with that wp driveshaft still being turned? I would like to do away with that wp drive seal for good too!!! No more leaks!!!!

The hp loss is nill and mine has never leaked. My plan was to remove it when I threw a cam in, which I never did.
