Default Cheap build for low boost?

If I took a stock 1995 block and put some lower compression pistons, better con rods, would that be enough or is there a reliable crank shaft that should also find its way in there? I know the blocks are pretty stout...people throw nitrous at them and they normally hold up under correct conditions. I would imagine id need something to hold ~10-15psi would be tops, I dont know if 8-10psi would get me my power goals on lower compression. Realistically Id have a safe 450rwhp and then just drive with it set 375-400hp most of the time.

It would be a rear mount turbo setup, or a supercharger if I can ever find a kit. I just would want to beef up the areas in the bottom end that need it. It would probably have to see 10-15psi to get the power goals I want once the compression is lowered?

If there is something that should definitely be upgraded to make it safer thats all Im wondering, apart from lower compression pistons? I believe alot of s/c kits get the goals I want at 8psi and some people run them on a stock engine that later almost always blows up. I kind of want to do a build that will last 5-10 years safely though.

I know theres a video of a sts rear mount turbo C4 corvette claiming 400 wheel hp @ 5psi, I want to do that, but only have it be safe for a long time

So I should basically say, how do a I make 400rwhp safely on a Lt1 with forced induction. Im talking I want to be able to give someone the keys and not worry about them blowing the car up.

The stock crank would be fine for that power level; I think you would be fine just running some forged dished blower pistons with an upgraded rods and call it good.

The issue with people blowing up stock LT1s after boost is because they don't drop compression. If you lower it, use meth injection, and keep the RPMs low then you could make decent power somewhat reliably if you have a good tuner.

Picking up a used set of TFS 195s would be the cheapest way. The chambers are 62cc stock but can be taken out 67cc.

I have been running 10 lbs (Procharger) on mine for over 3 years. Completely stock long block other than a cam. I have a safe tune and methanol injection.

Good to hear these things.

3 years and how many miles? What psi are you doing meth injection?

So 67cc heads with stock pistons will lower compression to around what?

Depends on the head gasket you get. 67cc heads and Felpro 1074 gaskets will be 9.5:1. Cometic makes a .060 MLS gasket that will drop it to 9:1.

If you keep the RPMs low, widen the ring gap, and have it tuned by someone who knows what they're doing then it will live much longer.

It is not that many miles, probably 15k or so over the three years. However, those are all "spirited" driving miles, lol. The methanol comes in around 5-6 psi and I have a dual nozzle setup. I have a safe tune and only run 17 degrees of total timing. I used to spin it to 6700, but have since turned it back to 6300 rpm to save the factory rod bolts.
