help installing headers

Default Need Help Asap On Headers!!!!

i cant get the passenger side header on. i heard i should unbolt the motormount on that side and jack the engine up 2 inches. is this true? and if it is where do i put the jack at?

you can jack up on the oilpan,use a piece of wood between the jack and pan. we used a cherry picker when we did mine,and lifted the engine 2-3" and it went in.

Default Need More Help Asap, Egr

i have the header in but now i cant figure how the hell im gonna hook egr up to the header. its lined up but i cant seem to reach back to tighten the nut on the bolt

That's what I ended up doing to be able to get my pass. side in. It's not hard or anything, just something little that takes a little extra time. It will make it slide in so much easier that way...

I always jack the motor up using the jack and wood technique but I place the jack under the front of the tranny pan. It works either way though. It makes more room that most think. :tu:

I always crank the motor up by the crank shaft pulley. But whatever floats your boat

thanks, i have the headers in, it wasn't too bad. but now im having the hardest time lining up the header bolts. my friend and i gave up last night at 1 and im not gonna do anything until sat. im way 2 frustrated with these damn bolts.

The easiest way to get the header bolts to line up on my car was to get the 2 outter most started and work my way in and once I got all of them started, torque them down in sequence.
