No response from PCM
I'm just a rookie at this programming stuff and I have two cars, one is a OBD-2 lt1 and the other is a OBD-1. I have the DST Tuner from Jet and tried to tune my OBD-2 car and somehow I think I killed the tuner, will not connect with the PCM at all, I have another LT1 obd-2 pcm that was working fine and wouldn't connect to that either, so I assumed it was my serial to usb converter and never got back at it since. Weird.
Now recently, since Summer, I've been trying to connect my laptop to the OBD-1 car. I had a cable from aldl cables that came with the car and it didn't seem to connect. So i went online and made the $10 FTDI aldl cable and still cannot get my laptop to connect to the PCM. All the ports are correct, the software is downloaded and installed and the little led's were blinking on the chip. I keep getting an " no response from the pcm" everytime. I have lost all hope trying to do this basic thing of connecting to my PCM. I have Winflash bought, Tunerpro installed and have the correct EE file and correct Bin.
I don't know what to do, next step would be building a bench programming cable?
Please help... Merry Christmas.
The cars run and drive, so it's definitely something with your set up. Are you running the programs on the laptop in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2? IIRC, you have to install them, from scratch, in compatibility mode (there's a special process to follow before the install to do it right). Under: Control Panel/ Programs/ Run programs made for previous verisons of Windows. That's how I did it on my Windows 7 stuff. If you have a newer verison I can't help there, sorry.

again, also requires XP SP3. SP2 wont work.
if you can't manage to drop some libraries in a folder you're doomed when it comes to actually tuning
