Default H/c + Nitrous ?

So I know now the lt1 needs some work (spun rod bearing)) I have planned roughly an LE1 heads and cc503 cam setup as well as fully forged rotating assembly, heavily ported stock manifold, and EFI 24x ls1 pcm and coil per cylander I know that's not everything but just roughly, I've been researching nitrous for a while now and would like to know if I can pull off spraying up to a 175 shot with this combo and seeing good results, or what I can do to improve upon this setup to run nitrous more effectivly with these heads. -Ryan 94 T/a

You can run nitrous with whatever heads you want..

I pretty much figured the same thing as well, I just haven't seen or heard of anyone running nitrous with these heads

I ran a ~100 shot on top of quite a bit more heads/cam NA horsepower than you're shooting for. Ended up about 650 total crank hp. WITH a stock bottom.

If it's built and tuned competently, a 175 shot on top of LE1/503 on a forged bottom end would be perfectly safe.

I don't know, your intake wasn't "heavily ported".

Even safer! A good chance that will hinder his NA horsepower some more

You should be fine spraying that on an LT, just as long as you have the fuel pump to support it.

Will a sequential fuel pump setup work?

I'm shooting for 425 N/a ~ 600 on juice. I may get blasted for this goal with this setup but I should be able to pull it off, especially with the ls1 pcm. I'm just looking for the streetablility that I wouldn't necessarily have with big heads and a hot cam. Although it would be a lot of fun!!

And props to you man!! Stock bottom end ?! I mean I know a 100shot is still not too stupid but Right on! How'd everything hold up friend ?? Must have been one hell of a neck breaker 😏

In your original post, you said "heavily ported stock manifold". If you follow through with that misguided advice that someone planted in your head, you will very likely hurt your performance rather than help it. The only manifold mod that would apply for you would be to enlarge the front openings if you decided to run a 58mm TB, which you don't need for such a mild H/C setup.
The stock unmolested manifold supports over 500 crank hp. "Heavily porting" it would hurt rather than help power in the range you're shooting for.

425 NA at the crank will be no problem. At the wheels, no way.
LS1 PCM/ignition system will not help you in the power department, nor in the streetability department. Dependability: maybe, as long as the installation is of factory quality. Nothing wrong with it, just don't expect any magic.

The rebuilt stock bottom held up to 6 seasons of drag racing with 7100 rpm shifts. It gave up the ghost in the 2nd season of roadcourse use, which didn't surprise me much.

Ya I was thinking at the flywheel more or less but that would still only be like 380-390 at the wheels correct me if I'm wrong ? I'm using the ls1 pcm for the benifets of smooth ignition timing, and the tuning capabilities. That's where the magic shines. I know pcmforless Mail order tunes are pretty good but that's kinda of back up for me. I'm getting rid of the opti purposely lol. So why can't I port the stock intake for this build? I just want it to flow really well. Anyways I'm also not quite set on le1's or le2's haven't talked to Lloyd yet. I had originally planned to run a cc306 or a custom cam again got worried about streetability.

Come on man, he went with the cheapest heads he could, wasted money on unnecessary manifold porting, picked a popular shelf cam that is very comfortable inside the LT1 pcm limits negating any benefit the LS pcm could have afforded, and set a goal few reach with the next step up heads and a matched cam.

No serious budget buddy just going to be done right. everything is just a rough copy for know if that makes sense, I,m looking for good flow numbers. I.M.O! Opti's on lt1's are one of the worst disrtibutors I have ever seen. I'm looking for coil per cylander, smoother ignition timing, dependability, and tuning capabilities from the ls1 pcm. Everything the opti can't offer. At least not for me I had bad luck with 2 of them Installed correctly each time. And well then caprice, tell me what is the perfect cam ...? Tell me it's not a matter of personal preference and goals. GTFO if your here to ragg around and troll buddy I'm looking for some good advice. You have your build go chew a cobra like I'm tryina do.

It doesn't matter how many cheap Optis you correctly install, they will still fail. Put an MSD or Delco opti on it with loctite on everything and you won't have opti problems.

Instead of spending $1000 on an ls1 PCM, which is only really beneficial when you want over the LTx PCM limit of 7100rpm, or are making a ton of power on a custom setup and can't find an LTx tuner, spend that $1000 on better heads, and a better cam, and you can have 425rwhp on an LTx PCM instead of 425 flywheel on an ls1 PCM. Or save another couple grand, do forged rods and pistons and get a cam that needs 7500rpm and better heads and make more power. But if you are using nitrous, you don't need 7500 rpm, so keep the lt1 PCM, use that $1000 on forged rods and pistons, and spray away.

Bowtienut, did you do a tear down yet and find out what failed?

Buf hit it right on the head. There are things that you spec'd that are nice to have but not adding to your end goal. You've just been lucky enough to get they guys that have been answering these same qestions for ever and cant seem to just skip over these types of posts.
First off, if you're planning LE heads, let LLoyd take care of the rest of the components up there as well. Let him handle the heads, cam, and intake. A custom spec'd cam costs exactly the same as an off-the-shelf cam and its whats going to work with YOUR setup. Same money better performance. Also, they're busting your ***** over the "heavily ported" comment. A bigger hole isn't always better like most think. Larger volume can screw velocity and distrubution. A lazy scavenging and filling cylinder is not good for performance. You know who does a good job making sure the heads, cam, and intake work well together? Lloyd Elliott. And yes guys I am very well aware there are others out there but hes expressed interest in Lloyd and I like Lloyd, so....
Finally, fully forged & well tuned, a 175 shot is no big deal at all. Just let the guys who make their living spec'ing **** do what they do. You'll be way happier in the end, ask me how I know...
Secondly, let me be the first to say I love my 24x setup, but I spray 300+ and shift at 7300 on my 396. Would i recommend it for a gocart? Yes. But as buf said you're installing it for convenience, not performance. THATS OKAY. Just be aware its a big investment and not a easy install. I agree, screw the opti and the lack of readily available lt1 tuners. But again, see previous sentence.
