alight right guys, i'm needing some help. I have two different cables, 1 from when I bought TunerCATS long long time ago, and bought one from quit some time ago aldlcable. Never had an issue connecting to EEhack until now. Been out of the game from at least year and half. I have the latest version of it. Put in a 9in and need to pull ABS codes. I can't connect and I'm not about to go buy a 3rd cable. Referring to post 63 what software and drivers need up dating and how do I go about doing it. I am using Windows 10.

If you don't have an 'official' FTDI chipset - and almost all of the cheap cables have counterfeit chips - the FTDI drivers released last year will inject bad data into the datastream. Your PC may have updated the drivers automatically. (Info here)

The only real option? Get a cable with genuine FTDI chips. I just went through this myself with my Red Devil River cable that suddenly stopped connecting to Scan9495 and never would connect to eehack. Replaced it with a cable from 1320 electronics and have been a happy camper ever since.

I think there's a possibility that you have a driver issue with using your older cables. Windows 10 probably installed the drivers automatically when you plugged them in and there is a good possibility that those newer drivers may not work with your older cables. If you got any CD/software with the cables you bought then I would use the drivers from that. If not then I recommend emailing the company you bought them from and see what drivers they recommend.

Hi all. I'm in the process of moving my gear to a new laptop. I have tunerpro installed (haven't used it in on the new laptop). I downloaded ee hack. I used to use datamaster my my laptop died and I haven't been able to get it working yet on a virtual machine on my new laptop where we copied the info from the hardrive over to the new computer. Anyhow,

Car is a 92 vette

So can I use the definition file that I have used on tunerpro and datamaster or do I need a different file?

Also, when I open up eehack, most of the stuff is clear and straightforward in the setup screen. However, what is the log/bin thing at the bottom. Is that just the name of the file of this session that will be saved later on?

As a side note, it started out on comm port 4. I moved my cable to a different port and then hit refresh and it moved to 5. I'm guessing this is a good thing; It looks like the computer is seeing my cable.
