Default LT1 distributor cap?

Does anyone make a distibutor cap for an LT1? I remember seeing an MSD add a few years back for one and a friend of mine called them and they seemed to not know anything about it. I am looking for one for a buddy who wants one but if not he is gunna have to go with a delco.

Are you talking about not using the opti anymore. I have seen a few guys use a distributor before. You have to cut the back of your intake and you need a cam that will work with it. I also saw in the summit racing mag that they had a carb intake, That intake may have a spot for a distributor.

Are you talking about a rotor? The rotors are replaceable on the opti's, but I've never heard or seen any kind of a "cap" to replace.

I bought a cap and rotor new from the local parts store for mine. I bought a reuilt Opti and it was only the main piece. I was able to locate a cap and rotor at another store. However, I do not know of anything aftermarket. I don't think it even matters really.

Sorry I took soo long to reply. Yeah I was just talking about putting a new cap on, he has already bought a new optispark-- what I call a distributor and pretty much is one.

I just would have sworn that I saw a magazine add about msd making one a year or two ago.

Considering the optispark is one of the main differences of the LT1 and SBC, we like to refer to it as it's given name instead of just "the distributor". And yes, the opti is a distributor.

I prefer to call it the opti-**** but a distributor is a distributor. Say, if they make a front mount distributor and change it's name, then why do they change to a cam driven water pump from the belt drive and it still gets to be called a waterpump?
