Cam is a 238/246 from AI (spec'ed to compliment the 21 Deg Trickflow heads). Springs are 155 lbs on the seat, ~380 lbs open. Car is street/strip, no road courses. Peak power is around 6400-6500, shift around 6800 with stock opti and 93 ECM. Ran 10.88 at 123 in a 3650 lb Camaro.

I'm very happy with it! Valve lift is 0.620", 108 lobe sep. It's a torque monster with a killer top end. Something similar would probably suit your road racing needs pretty well.

Those lobes are just a little milder than what I was running, judging by your similar lift but more duration,.
Yeah, the new LLSR at just a few more deg advertised will be similar to your HR cam. 108 LSA as well.

This thread makes me wonder what's going on in mine, since I have such a similar setup. Mine lives a much easier life though, the pill is set at 6800 and I almost never turn it past 6300 or so on the street. It's not been tracked yet.

I wouldn't be worried. Street and drag racing with a 6800 limit, I think mine would still be living a happy life.

IMHO autox will take a heavier wear/abuse toll on a car than 1/4 mi use.

autox where you hold a lower gear vs up shift longer than you should, then decal, then slam it WOT all day....yeah fun but it sure takes its toll on motor, braking & suspension

1/4 mi is also taking on motor in terms of RPM but nowhere near the sustained activity of aggressive autox

yeah it cost to play :-)

Good info, I just got a 96 impala ss and will be following and reading all your threads for info. I Just want it to be as killer on the street as it can be made with some runs at the test and tunes at the strip on 93 octane. I will need to find someone to build it right with the right parts and tune it into a monster as I can do none of that. It sounds like yours has been a killer !!!
