Default Random LT1 Chirp/Squeak

It is NOT related to belt driven accessories.

So far, unrelated this this noise, have replaced cam, lifters, pushrods, and guideplates. Rockers were all mixed up and noise remains from driver side regardless.

It does it when accelerating and can just barely be mimicked at idle giving it gas. But, on a dyno it will do it, so very definitely related to engine RPM and not chassis deflection or suspension things.

Did it do it without the turbo components on there? Sound still there with valve covers off?

It's def coming from the engine bay?

Have not tried without covers on because it would make a mess and def from engine bay.

That's what I'm thinking since it only does it under load.

Negative on leak, new gaskets and I pressure checked hotside.

But I will check again, keep the ideas coming.

I do not know how it would be, if it was, turbo would have killed itself long ago. Shaft has no play and no touch down marks on the housing.

X2 on exhaust leak. Weren't you the one that used that copper sealing stuff? Could have gotten some pinhole leaks in it causing that high pitch squeak. Could also be a vacuum leak. Mine made a very similar noise to this only under load. The vacuum line running near the alternator got a hole burnt through it from the alternator turning.

Under acceleration there is no vacuum.

and yes, copper coated MLS header gaskets. New. Made the same noise previously on old Felpro 1406 gaskets too.

Yes I know lol. Mine made more noise under load with the vacuum leak, odd I know but.... I don't know much about turbo stuff but could the turbo be causing any strange noises?

If that chirp or squeak is internal it is never good news. Listening to the noise on headphones now it can be heard on decel, and with the frequency does seem valvetrain related. It's a bitch, but I would start pulling **** off the top end and closely examine all rockers, valve tips, pushrods, guideplates, rollers on the lifters and cam lobes.

Internal could be somewhere in the exhaust wrapped around the motor. I have checked and rechecked rockers, and to add to the confusion it made this noise on both cams. Old cast one with LS7 lifters and new billet one with crower link bars.

All the pushrods look like even normal wear from guideplates, and its now different guideplates, noise remains.

You're running composite lt4 valve covers right?

I think it's time to pull out the stethoscope or else you'll just hear it reverberating in the engine bay everywhere

Mind taking a video of the engine bay as well?

Break out your stethoscope. Perhaps a hairline crack in the exhaust somewhere close to the head?

No, aftermarket tall valve covers, alternator relocated. The sound is not there at idle, and is very tough to create revving it.

While at idle, nothing sounds out of ordinary.

Its a conundrum.

You're an auto right? Maybe have someone put it gear and rev it a little bit to put a load on it while you check around with the stethoscope?

OP

while you have tried to explain the situation and post a video we can just take educated guess on the "why"....with that said from this side of the internet it is about impossible to guess wtf it is

A video of the engine from several POV's "may" help us narrow down the possible general location of the squeak...but you would be way better off using a stethoscope as noted and have a friend rev or do whatever condition induces (loading the car) the squeaks

Harbor Freight has the stethoscope for around $4...better than a screw driver to the ear IMHO. Be careful of moving parts when probing around a running engine

If I had to guess....something turbo related. Either turbo unit internal contact or plumbing leak
