We are working with Kooks on building 1 7/8" Headers in Stainless Steel for the LT1 Engines. To be able to do this we need a pole of just how many would by them. Here is what we know so far.
The price would be about the same as the LS1 Headers in Stainless Steel.
It would require 1/2 deposit before Kooks would start building the headers.
It would be around September before the Headers would be available to the public and those that paid 1/2 now would pay the other 1/2 before shipment.
There is a minimum of 25 orders we need to get this ball rolling and get the headers and jig complete.
Anyone interested in this should reply to this poll ASAP. On friday we will determine if there is enough response to continue with this.
Thank You,

P.S>A spread port version would be nice too

The cost of the LS1 Headers in Stainless Steel ranges from $759.99 to $799.99 depending on where you purchase them and when. The cost will be about what this is but that is not set in stone either.

Would these have full provisions, such as:
1) dual Air Injector fittings, EGR fitting & dual 02 sensor bungs for the price?
2) Is the #1 primary going to be a slip-fit like Hooker/JetHot?
3) What gauge steel on the primaries, collector flanges & also where they bolt to the heads?

It would have the option of air fittings and egr fittings. The O2 bungs already come with it no matter what. These fittings would not be an extra cost but would be included in all header prices. The primary fitting we are not sure about. I know on Hooker it comes apart but I do not know from Kooks stand point how they like this. The headers are made from 18 guage stainless steel. Please let me know if you have any questions so we can address everyones issues.

Stefan, you will like the hedmans ... fitment is nice ,plug access is easier since they make the first turn off the head farther away...The adapter plates could have been better like aluminum instead of steel but all in all a good header they are the same set that I run..

Joe, thanks for the input.I did not know anyone with them so I was kind of gun shy to buy them, but TY TECH told me he would get them on so dont worry. They are sweet, i had them sent to Jet Hot.

Joe, do you think a small cube high rpm (7 grand) motor would benifit with a bigger header over my current hooker long tubes? I'm trying to figure some stuff out to put me back in contention with the FS field. Gonna be a hard struggle but would appreciate some suggestion.

ideally I would run a stepped or tri- y($$$$$$$) header to keep torque and still maintain good upper rpm power on a smaller cube motor..If your running a real loose converter and steep gears the hedmans will prolly be best premade header, unless the thread starter here has any comment on what they are contemplating.....the large primary will free up topend, you will just have to play with collector length to get some back pressure in the engine so bottom end torque doesnt suffer..

I'm running a t-56 and 4.71 gears..so I have a variable stall I'm brainstorming trying to get back into at least the running in QS. Head change, intake chance, maybe headers...who knows. I need to go faster man..lol. May be time to ditch the t-56..I would hate too but I'm gonna need to make some big HP gains to catch them.
