4L80E swap - flexplate options
Hey guys, I'll be doing a 4L80E swap into my car soon and instead of getting a custom LT1 -> 80e converter to adapt to the stock flexplate I've read I can do a SFI 168 tooth flywheel and use a mini high torque starter (the one in it is on the way out anyways) to be able to run a standard 80e converter that should bolt up to an LS engine if I ever go down that dark alley. Has anyone on here done the 80e swap with a standard style converter and 168 tooth flywheel and what was the setup? I'm looking to start getting the parts together soon, already have the 80e, going to do MCW tunnel mount torque arm and 80e conversion x member, madman dipstick, and what to do about the existing shift linkage and cooler lines.

My FTI converter has both bolt patterns, so I can run the larger pattern later if I so please. Simpler to stick with a 153 tooth and be more "stockish" than fall completely off the map.
Cooler lines will depend on what year core you have for trans, but anticpate making new ones regardless.
The shifter cable bracket will need the holes slotted and then adjusted, shoebox has the article on how to adjust the 60e cable. Same thing.
