Yeah I was kinda thinking that or would it be easier to swap the whole engines or is there a gain to the 96 engine? The 96 is a way nicer car by far just cause it's leather, t top, 6 spd manual. But the 93 I picked up is also in great shape.

The 93-94 came with a different style Opti-spark than the 95-97 did. They are not interchangeable from how they are mechanically driven off the cam. You should still be able to drop in the complete 93 engine with the Opti that's on it, just keep that in mind if you ever have to buy a replacement down the road.

When I cammed my 94Z, I changed the Opti to the 95+ vented unit so the cam was ordered to reflect that change.

If you end up swapping the complete '93 engine into the '96, make sure you don't forget to put a pilot bearing in the back of the crankshaft if your '93 is an Auto!
