Default Headers on LT1

Hey guys, I'm complicating on whether or not to get Kooks headers for my 93 (LT1) trans am but am also looking at mid-high-grade headers for an option, any suggestions?

I would be hesitant to go with LPP now. I along with several other board members went through complete debacles with Carl not responding to messages, taking forever to ship, I'm going on shoot maybe 8-9 months now and never got the right Y pipe. He bought one from another vender that doesn't even fit LT1 cars and sent that to me. Complete joke.

The headers themself are nice but Carls customer service has really taken a nose dive.

Anyways you won't regret buying Kooks headers I've had several sets and they are a great header. Not cheap but if you call Maryland speed they offer very nice prices compared to everyone else.

Ditto on Kooks. Second to none when it comes to LT1 long tube quality, clearance, and fitment.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't put a $1500 exhaust on a $1500 car. If it's a spotless and clean car, maybe, but there are other stainless options out there.

If you will keep the car forever then spend the money on Kooks. If not, go Pacesetter or something cheaper and have them ceramic coated.

I couldn't justify spending that much on a car that I paid $5000 for. Granted between upgrading the diff/shocks/springs/swaybars/watts link/wheels+tires I have spent ENOUGH on it lol. But I will likely have my car for a long time and race it.

I would pay $100 more for a car that has Kooks on it than LPP or Pacesetter...you won't get the resale out of them. Something else to think about.

LPP - they fit great. I ordered last summer and got them within one week. Had to grind the k-member a very small amount.

I'd go with Kooks LT', make sure you frequently tighten the header bolts or you'll end up blowing header gaskets like me.
