80mph driveline vibration, driveshaft?
Im sorry it had to be the most expensive part of the system there, that sucks! But im a little unsure of what u meant, im working in a machine shop makeing tools for aerospace, and its not easy or cheap to machine something "larger" they may open up the gear inner diameter and press a sleeve in there. Im not too sure as this isnt my specific field. But im pretty certain they cant make that shaft bigger.
however after further testing my vibration has changed....it seems to be most prominent at the top of 4th gear, going away as i shift, which is alarming, however when i approach 115 to 120, it comes back but not nearly as bad as before...my trans came from a beat to **** 4th gen trans am, was told there was upgraded shift forks in there and the trans was "freshened" either way i was told by a few mechanics thats the trans shifted very well, i feel it still shifts great, but i may be missing something other than the vibration, maybe it comes strong on the top of 4th because the ratio is 1:1 so the driveshaft is spinning the same as my rpms? Is that correct?

I'm not sure of the exact science behind it, but from what I understand they plate the shaft...adding more material/thickness to it then machine the shaft back down. Once its at the spec they use, they press fit the 5-6th gear cluster back on. They used to be a sponsor on the site, some other members have used them and it eliminated their vibration issues. The 5-6 gear should not just slide off the shaft as it is supposed to be a tight press fight. This is what happened to at least one other member I know of, and they used the same company. It resolved their vibration issue.
Ahh i understand now, i wonder what they plate it with, makes sense idk why i didnt understand that before. As to what another person said about the car feeling cheap, is all these vibrations and quirks just the name of the game with this cheap cars? I mean modded we keep up with cars that cost 4x as much so i dont feel too bad but its very annoying lol. Vibrations kill my vibe

You gotta remember how old these cars are, with a solid axle rear end as well. I wouldn't say they are cheap per say as they really were not back in the day. Its just the way of the era they were built in. Manufactures at the time were looking for ways to keep things cost effective as well prices down. Hell, I've driven a 01 C5 that was just as rough on the road as my current trans am. But did out perform and handle better. It's kind of along the same road as HP back then versus now. Today you can go buy a 2010 Comaro RS V6 with the same amount of HP as our 94-02 F- Body's V8's. A lot of the cars from the late 90's in my opinion had that cheap plastic looking interior. My 99 Mitsu Eclipse GSX was the same way. My T/A doesn't squeak that often as its still low mileage and all the interior panels are still pretty secure but due to the lack of sound deadening material in the trunk/hatch area material in the trunk road noise is crazy. Im planning on pulling some carpet and putting down something to reduce noise when I install my roll bar. I hope it helps, Also installing a Electronic cutout at my pre axle dump and running pipes back. I would like to have a conversation with people sometimes..lol
