Factory heads that I cleaned up, most of the work was in the bowls; blending into the seats. Narrowed up the valve guides and cleaned up the chamber. Valve job with the stock valves and fresh 918's. Shaved .010 with the VR .026 gasket.

You have 4.30 gears and a 3800 converter...get yourself a real cam and swap out those shorties for some LT's.

Beautiful car btw!

Been thinking about a bigger cam and long tubes on and off for years but I always seem to end up refining the combination I have.
Thanks, Its a low mileage car (35k), helps that it still looks new.
I think long tubes would be a great next move for you. I dropped 0.5ths and gained 5mph in the 1/8th by adding Kooks long tubes and their cat'd y-pipe.
I was on the stock exhaust manifolds and y-pipe before that change with my CC503 setup....they were choking the power down really badly.

My fear with long tubes is NJ state inspection, not sure how that would fly with the cats being relocated.
Good eye! Yes it is an early build, 8/96 - SLP#0068. In fact its not a Camaro cluster but a factory modified Firebird/Trans Am cluster. I found this out working with Mark from 6LE for the custom overlay, at the time it was the first one he had seen. The housing and lens would not fit the newly designed Camaro dash, so they cut and ground down one of the mounting ears until the Camaro clusters with the digital odometer were ready for the assembly line. Never found out how many analog clusters came off the production line in 97 but from what I understand its quite rare.
I bought this car new and it has never failed inspection except for one time before they had in ground cameras, they used a mirror on a stick and the inspector could not find the cat. Had to argue that he was wrong and get his manager involved. They gave me a passing sticker in the end but was a huge waste of my time for their incompetence.
