Default Another misfire thread....

I have a misfire that I can't figure out even after searching on here for hours. I have put new heat resistant plug wires on, new spark plugs, opti, AC Delco oxygen sensors and new header gaskets that were leaking badly. I'm lost because I checked the injectors using a injector pulse tool and I checked compression that read near 200 lbs per cylinder. What else could it possibly be? Thanks in advanced for the replies!

what brand was the one you replaced and what brand is the current Opti?

are you using the factory heat shield boots on some of the plug wires?

The Opti is a an AC Delco and the plug wires don't have the metal boots because they are Accel heat resistant wires with boots that withstand 2000 degrees and the wire itself withstand 600 degrees of header heat

than what I would have suggested is mute since you have the "good" opti and without the metal plug boots there would be no arc between plug and inside of the stock metal Plug wire heat shield

SOLVED : bad distributor cap, took a shot in the dark and replaced. The existing cap with a new AC Delco cap and it runs like a champ. Verified on the existing cap before replacment that the plug wires were ran correctly also.
