EVAP & air pump question
EVAP & air pump question Can anyone tell me where the tube on the bottom of the evap goes that is currently open to air in the pic? Its on a 96z28. Also the other pic is a air module hooked on by a bracket by the coil. Is this used for anything besides the air pump? I would like to get rid of it! I deleted the air pump and had it tuned out.
Thanks, i thought it was supp to vent into a canister in the fender. Ohh thats right the canister is in the rear fender. I notice my gas tank used to have lots of pressure build up when i opened the gas cap?

That's the vacuum purge switch, you're thinking of the EVAP purge solenoid. The switch purges excess vacuum in the purge line, and yes that hose is supposed to be open to atmosphere.
The second is only for the AIR pump. If you're removing it, that air solenoid can go along with it. Just remember to cap off the intake where the hose went.
