One final exhaust question
Non-hydraulic pipe spreaders suck dick.
Anyways, i fudged up 2 of the pipes and need to start over.
So, my question is this, I've found a complete x-pipe, from LTs to muffler, off a 99 LS1 camaro. Are the end points for the headers the same on LT1 and LS1 fbodies? Or close enough where a torch and some persuasive nudging will get it there?
What measurements should i look for? I got my headers installed, and pipe a short pipe on both sides for a crude side exhaust. Drove it once and burnt up my plug wires. Thought i routed them good, AND used some of that heat tube. It all melted to hell. So, i can't drive my car to this guy with the pipes and get an idea.
Stop yeah, are the headers roughly the same length on the underside? Of course, not all headers ate the same length, but theres only so much space under these cars, i figured all headers are roughly in the same end point.
He's asking a really good price, so if it's close enough, I'm gonna get it and take it to a exhaust shop and get her done right.
what's the consensus?
I'm running their dual exhaust on my 06 Sierra, so why not grab that and just have the front modified how you would need it?
Wish they had been around or if they were around, I wish I had known of them before I did my single 4" exhaust. I've had so many setups on my car now I refuse to change it again.
EDIT: Also, grab some of those fireboots for your plug wires. They are cheap insurance, I'm not sure why people don't do them...

anyways, i got an x pipe, but no welder. I found a shop to do it for petty cheap, so I'm gonna take it to them.
been running straight pipes and turn downs, well drove it one day and burnt stock plug wires. Replaced them, and burnt that set even with new 600* wire loom, which also melted, and routing then as close to stick location with zip ties and wire loom. So now I'm ordering the MSD kit, and some fiberglass 1300* spark plug wire sleeves.
so, hopefully by next weekend I'll be ready.
