fuel rail o-rings
fuel rail o-rings Anyone know a source for the o-rings for the fuel rail and tubes? I'm rebuilding my rails since finding the o-rings cracked. I can't seem to find a source for the o-rings though. I can find them for the L98 motors but I don't know what sizes they used. I'm replacing the FPR and it comes with o-rings. If I can find the other o-rings then everything will be new on the fuel rails.

Are you talking about the ones on the injectors? If so have you tried Rockauto? They have tabs under fuel and air labeled "fuel rail o ring", "fuel injector o ring" and under the fuel injector o ring tab they have a whole kit in there.

No, not the injector O-rings. I'm referring to the two O-rings that are on either end of the crossover tube found on late LT1 fuel rails and the o-ring that goes on the end of the tube that slides into the FPR. There are only three O-rings total I'm trying to find. The crossover tube uses 3/8" and the FPR tube uses 5/16" O-rings.

That's definitely a possibility, Rob. I just haven't made it that far yet. I thought maybe I was looking in the wrong place or that someone knew who had the parts. I'm surprised with the number of LT1 vehicles that were built that more people haven't had to replace their O-rings or that a company doesn't already have them as an available part.

I sold my LT-1 powered, '96 Z/28 a couple of years ago, but I'm pretty sure I remember the O-rings you're referring to. If I recall correctly, they aren't easily replaceable. I thought they were "swaged" in place, so as much as I wanted to replace them before they dried out and started leaking, since they weren't broke, I didn't try to fix them.....

I was having trouble finding the o-rings and caps for the Ford 30# units. This company had a kit for them. Hit them up with an email or call, they may have a kit for what you need as well.

I just ordered in some o-rings from McMaster Carr. I ordered part numbers 8297T168 and 8297T169 which are 5/16 and 3/8 inch Viton o-rings respectively. They are almost identical to what I measured so I figure my measurements aren't exact. I'm not positive on the durometer, but from experience, I can say the factory o-rings are on the harder side of the scale like these from McMaster. Will let you know what they are like in a couple days.

Brown viton o-rings size 110: 3/8 x 9/16 75 durometer hardness
50 units for under ten bucks. These are for the crossover tube.
