What is a 355?
What kind of gains will I see from it?]
Cost so close to the same to go 383 doing a 350 is not worth it
that bigger crank is where its at youll never go smaller again
Yes. The head removal will be somewhat easier than the cam, because after you remove the intake manifold and valve train parts, the heads will then lift straight off. The cam is a little trickier, as the radiator and a/c condenser have to be gotten out of the way. The radiator isn't too hard, but you probably don't want to evacuate the refrigerant from the a/c system, so getting the condenser out of the way could be tricky. Keep in mind, the camshaft is basically as long as the engine is, so you need that much clear space in front of the engine, in order to remove it.

Btw, does the LT4 hot cam kit contain everything that is needed for a cam swap? I'm talking about RR's and springs and so on, or is there something I would have to order separate? I've been searching this question before but I wasn't satisfied with the answers I found.
Word of advice if you have a kid on the way: stop buying anything for yourself until that kid is born and you know your finances. Kids are expensive, you are looking at $3000 minimum depending on your insurance for delivery, unless your one of those bathtub births, breast milk till its 5, reusable diapers kind of parents. My first daughter didn't like the titty and was allergic to cows milk and needed Nutramagen or whatever formula that ran $600 a month. Since I found out my wife is pregnant again I've frozen all my plans for car builds until it comes out and make sure it's healthy. Kids are ******* expensive, and you may not understand it now but you'll love your kid more than you could ever love a car. Don't dump money into an LT1 that you will never get back until the kid is out.
Adulting rant over, your good condition short block can take heads and cam, a 355 vs 350 is only for strength, not power. An LE2 package and boltons will net around 400rwhp, add $2000 for supporting mods and keep RPMs below 6600 and don't rev over 5500 with no load (aka burn outs at 6600 rpm are bad) and it'll last.

But yes, you are right. Everything is very expensive for a child. This is my first kid so we have to buy everything. The stroller we have ordered was 1200$.. yikes!
Anyway, as I said before, my Formula has been my dream car since I was 14 years old and I'm 32 today.
It's not my daily and I only drive it during the summer. It's more of a long time project so I don't have to buy everything at once. This summer I will aim for new suspension and nothing more. Maybe when I put it away this fall I will start with the engine. Maybe.
I have been wanting kids since I was 20 years old so believe me when I say that my car is nothing compared to that!
