IDK what TQ spec it is for those bolts. My $.02...tight using a short ratchet.....

I'm putting things back together and want to make sure I've got it right. This first set of pictures is what I believe to be #6 tdc. I'm only going off pushrods right now because I had the lifter out and I don't think the valves are reliable.

Took the car to an exhaust shop and I'm relieved to report it was just an exhaust leak, whew. The back 2 header bolts on the passenger side had loosened up a little. The mechanic said he was able to put 1 full turn on each of them and the ticking is gone. Obviously I didn't wrench on them hard enough initially. To be honest one of my biggest fears with this car is breaking a header bolt but if this happens again I'll put some more muscle into it. If I'm going to try and find the bright side in all of this, at least we know what the valve train looks like now and we know the rockers are adjusted properly.
