Cam selection.
I have a LT1 383 built by Karl Ellwein. It is awesome! It had Dart Pro 1, 23° 11121112L4 heads, GM 846 cam, 1.6RR, Mahle Power Pak pistons with 11.7 compression, stock LT1 intake. On a crank Dyno with Carb it made 500hp/530 tq.
Now I will have a 383 LT1 with AFR 195CC Competition heads flowing 308@.600, with a 58cc, and Mahle Power Pak pistons at 11.7 compression. The bottom end is built, but I don't want to shift past 6500. I am trying to get the best cam for power between 2000/2600 and 6000/6400rpm. I want to try to get upper 500s all motor if possible. I need a HR cam , and have 1.6RR. This is an M6 with stock 10bolt rear. I have H beam callies Rods and Callie's crank. I will port intake too. I have a 58 throttle body.
I am thinking about a LE 231/239 110LSA
I just read about the comp cam xfi 292...looks powerful, but it may be to much duration.
Any ideas? Thank you!!

My $.02 would be go with a LE cam, especially if you want to keep max power under 6500 RPM.
The XFI you note makes good power but wants to spin close to or at 7k RPM to make peek power.
In drag racing you want to shift 300-500 RPM past max power so you land closer to the cams max power band on the next shift.....so a cam that makes power up to about 7k, IMHO, is a bit much
