Your opinion....m6 Goodmorning,
My cars 3th gear does not work (car shake heavely when releasing clutch in 3th i just drive it 1-2-4)
I got 2 options: buy a used 93 (dont know how many miles it has on it and dont know if its a m28 or m29) it has a B&M short shifter and a Spec stage 4 clutch for about $1100 (i saw that the 93's has higher ratios then the 94 and up)
Or buy a overhaul kit for my 94 and let someone rebuild it (seems like a lot of work i dont know if i can do it) and bytheway if i rebuild it can i install 93's ratios in it?
What would you do?

M6 Okk thanx i hink im better with rebuilding mine.
next 3 question i have are:
1.when rebuilding it can i put higher ratios in it l8ke the 93?
2. Whats the correct rebuild kit? I was looking at one on ebay($325) i dont know if im allowed to post it.
3. How easy is it to rebuild them, because on this Island that i live i still cant find no one that has ever done it....??

To be honest my friend the 93 6 speed is it's own breed and should be used with just bolt ons possibly a mild cam to keep it safe TQ destroys parts
The 94 -97 t56 is rated to hold more power and is generally the 6 speed of choice.
The difference in gear ratios in the trannys was because of the rear axle ratios available for 93 that's why 94-97 all came with 3.42s instead...
Lastly, I would NOT spend more than 600.00 for a 93 6 speed...
