Track time finally!
Fun, isn't it?

Nah, they are .570 lift Alex Springs for now. I want the dual spring lunati kit I always read about on here when I get my heads ported and 1.6 rockers. I'm shifting it a little past the stock limiter, not sure exactly though... kinda scared about the stock bottom end at that RPM. I also did plan on Long tubes as well. so it sounds like I'm on the right track for future mods then, and yes it is a blast!

very good times for a cam only
.1 decrease in your 60' time=.2 at the big end so if you get a tire (MT ET Street 26 x 10 on a 15" rim) and a higher stall TC you will likely pick up at least .3 on the 60' getting you into the 12's (12.7)
Head work, 1:6 RR, headers, etc, etc will all improve beyond the tires and stall......until you hit a track with 5,000' DA and you struggle to stay in low 13's :-(
My friend has the same cam, 1.6rr, Longtubes, Magnaflow cat back, vigilante3600, 3.42s, dragradials, k&n cai and m/o tune and his best pass is 12.89@104 our DA was 3000'
Same set up at sea level gets 12.5 - 11.8 again depending on DA
For reference, here are my benchmarks below....
5/22/08
Baseline stock with K&N CAI and Flowmaster catback.
Warmed up:9.1@80.322mph
Full cool down:8.9@82.436mph
10/03/08
CC503, 1.6 NSA Pro Mag Roller rockers, PAC 1518 springs, 10* retainers/locks, Trickflow guideplates, 7.2" Comp hardened pushrods, stock heads, stock exhaust manifolds, catback exhaust, K&N CAI, FMS 30# Injectors.
Warmed up:8.882@83.770mph
No full cool down run.
2/19/11
Added Kooks Long tube headers(1 3/4" x 3") and dual cat y-pipe.
Warmed up:8.437@87.88mph
Partial cool down:8.389@88.354mph

Going to be running my car in the next few months with M/T drag radials, mac mid headers, 215/224 cam, 1.6 roller rockers, ewp, and stock heads and to be honest if i get a 13.3 i would be happy. Mines a manual car though. I'm coming from a 14.2 stock.

What could be wrong with a car to see double at the finish line?
I keep a spreadsheet on the few hundred passes I have made in my car. I see the "majority" of +.1 60' gain does =.1xx at the top end. I see in some cases I picked up .2xx and more but generally it = slightly more than the 60' time gain . These are all passes same day and generally within 5-10 degrees of air temp.
Beyond the time slip info I note date, air temp, RPM launch, lane, tire pressure and general notes like headwind, etc. Headwind at Fontana can be brutal some times of the year
Obviously several factors play in any +/- gain or loss
