Default LT Based Cam Options (L99/LT1)

So I am a Tuner guy. Built Engines before. But not very familiar with LT Based Motors and what will interchange or not. My Question is, is there only Cams for LT Motors or will any SBC Cam Work in an L99 or LT1? Will I have any trouble from using a standard SBC Cam in my LT Motor such as the Dowel for the Cam Gear? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

LTx engines need a dowel.

Comp cams used to sell different cams with the exact same specs for Gen-1 SBs versus LTs.

So if they were using different cams, I think it may be a bad idea to put a Gen-1 cam in the Gen-2 engine.

I'm pretty sure that a LTx cam can be modified for the Gen-1 engine.....but not the other way around.

All roller cams for Gen 1 and Gen 2 (LTX/L99) engines are the same except for the dowel pin. They're interchangeable if you just change the dowel pin in them, short for Gen 1, long for the opti drive in Gen 2.
