Educate me on LT1s

Educate me on LT1s My brother has a lightly modded 99 Silverado SS truck and I beat him pretty bad on the street last weekend. Well, he took it so bad he went out and bought a convertable 1997 Camaro SS M6. He said it was the (Rick) Hendrick edition? What is up with the Hendrick edition?
Also, he wants to start modding very soon. What should he do first as far as mods? Do the LT-1's have free mods like the LS-1's? Give me the list of mods. Like cam grinds and types of heads or anything like that. I want all the mods. His goal is to have around 450-500 rwhp. I know a decent amout about LS-1's and a little about LT-1's. I am going to count on you guys to help me get him on the right track to modding his car. Thanks in advance.

99 Silverado SS? Wasnt aware they made one that year. Lt1s have a couple free mods, TB bypass and maf descreen. No air silencer removals since yours is a SS. Every thing you can do on a LS1 holds the same. 20 or so different staple cams people stick to. Lot of diiferent cams out there. Far as heads you can get ported LT1, LT4s or AFR. If you got the coin, SBC Gen I heads can be converted. The LT1 is prety much a SBC, so you can do a lot. Lot of potential, just depends on budget and were you want to do. Long Tubes, Electric water pump, Heads, CC306 sized cam can easily hit 400+HP at the wheels. Being his is a convertible, hope he wnats to cage it because, any thing in the 13s needs a cage. LT1s also LOVE nitrous. The suspension is the same, back suspension is identical to yours, so nis the front. Lt1s have crappier brakes than LS1 cars. Any case the LT1 SS is a great looking car, enjoy.

Those are nice trucks, my friend's dad has one. He has a NX kit on it, my friend says it eats Hemis out of the hole. I just wish you could get it in a reg cab short bed

All you need to do is order the bellows for a 1LE LT1 car. They had the "silencer delete". I know, I have a 1LE bellow on my '94.
