Default Front End Seal Kit

Is there a particular brand or kit that has served you well?

I have a fairly significant front end leak so Ill be tearing down the front end to replace seals and gaskets. I'm not up to date on packages that include all the seals/gaskets or whatnot. Any suggestion on what gasket package and any install tips are greatly appreciated.

I've always used whatever seals/gaskets autozone supplies without issue. You going to remove the timing cover to replace that one? IMO I wouldn't unless that's where your leak is. Doing that can compromise the oil pan gasket.

To be honest, I haven't given it a good look since I havent been able to get it on a lift. The entire front lower portion of the car is covered in oil so I figured I would replace them all. I remember initially (around 15 years ago) that I had oil leaking from the area where the oil pan and front cover match up so I put silicon sealant there hoping the leak would stop. Being so long ago, I don't remember if it did or didn't, but now that I'm not a broke college kid anymore I figured I would replace all the seals on the front end.

Ill start with getting it on a lift, wiping it down, and driving it for a bit to see if I can isolate the leak. Regardless, because of its age I'll for sure be replacing the front seal, opti seal, and water pump seals when I install the EWP.

FelPro makes a Front Timing Cover seal/gasket kit for around $12 at most auto part stores

#TCS 45956

If you are going to remove the timing cover...you need to drop the front of the oil pan to get it off

The more common TC leak is the WP drive seal which is included in the kit

This seal kit would be for front timing cover assembly on a motor so will have more gaskets than you need if not removing the TC itself but for $12..it will have everything you need

Just ordered it, along with a few other small things from Summit. The time alloted for shipping will give me some time to see if I can figure out exactly where the leak is coming from. Thanks again for the help guys.

My money is on the water pump seal and/or the opti seal.
