Tuning software for a 96 LT1? So I'm looking into the tuning software I will need for when summer comes, and I think I know what I need. If I'm not mistaken, JetDST or LT1-Edit would be my choices, other than a 24x conversion and HPTuners. Since budget is important here, I don't think that 24x is the way for me. That being said, what system is more user friendly, given the $100 difference? If they're nearly identical, I'll just go with Jet and call it a day.
I have Jet DST for my '96, and it has been adequate for me. Data logging options are somewhat scarce for this vintage also. I use a combination of MXscan (now defunct and unavailable for purchase) with the Jet DST and Torque Pro with a $15 ELM based interface.
One other option is to "downgrade" to the OBD1 PCM since tuning and data logging options are cheaper and better supported.

JST is good. I actually like their layouts. Very easy to work with. As you can see above, Torque is great for datalogging. Its cheap and fairly easy to use. You can email me with questions or what you need to change, ill help you out. Endless448@hotmail.com
he's right, you can downgrade to an OBD1 pcm and those i DO have the cables for. But honestly, OBD2 is worth it, just keep it.
