Default In-line fuel pump

I´ve got a 255 in-tank fuel pump. But I need more fuel and thinking of getting a extra in line pump before the fuel filter under the car.
Do you have a suggesten on pump or kit that works with the least amount of changes to existing lines etc.?

I was talking with Racetronix the other day about the same thing. Jack there informed me that inline pumps aren’t the best for efficency. He advised that they sell a 340lph pump (RXP369). If I was you I would contact them and they can advise you of the best specific set up for your needs!

He told me a 255 is good for approximately 500-550 flywheel horsepower. The 340 is good for approximately 700. But you want to be 15-25% higher then your Horsepower rating. Along with the 340 pump you will need to upgrade your wiring and bulkhead as well.

If you are stuck on an in-line pump I’d contact Bob at Brute Speed, I believe Procharger makes an in-line pump that might work for you.

I have run an a-1000 on the back of the drivers side seat on a few dozen of those cars all in line with great success. I keep them in stock too, Let us know if we can help.

In-line pumps are a band-aid approach. They will extend the high-pressure flow but ultimately the overall flow will only be as much as the in-tank pump can supply. In some systems installing an in-line pump will change the pressure balance in the fuel system which causes the siphon jet in some modules to shut down.

Racetronix systems are designed to work properly with factory components so you maintain full functionality with improved performance. All our FLT1 systems are plug and play.

That is an Airtex pump reboxed.
Doesn't flow as much as a single in-tank Walbro 255.
Band-aid approach!
If you insist on installing something like this then you might as well install a Walbro GSL392 which is less than half that price with all the wiring and plumbing.

I'm sorry I was thinking you had an 98-02 LS1. This one wouldn't be a plug and play into your fuel system to supplement the 255 that you have installed in your tank. You would be better off by swapping out the pump in your tank with a larger one. Bob

I've got a vortech t rex setup for $25+ shipping if that's the direction you'd like to go. It flows 50 gph at 70psi.

A properly working and healthy 255 pump should support a 383 no problem.

How is your wiring to the pump?
