Default lean on driver side p0171

Ok so Ive been trying to trouble shoot this issue for a bit now. Car has been running great since October. It has LE1 ported heads, 224/230 cam, 1.6 rockers. Two weeks ago I noticed a lack of power in the 2-3k rpm range, the next day it started to throw a code P0171 lean driver side. I changed the 02 sensor right away with a brand new ACDelco 02 since Ive had trouble with it before I believe. That didn't solve my problem. I checked vacuum lines and tightened the exhaust manifold, Still nothing. Hooked up my scanner to try and see if the 02 is actually working and it looks like it is.

Ended up taking it into a shop who had it for a week. They did a smoke test, redid the vacuum lines and put a new gasket on the driver side exhaust and told me that the exhaust is now sealed up perfectly, but I have the #7 spark plug wire arcing but once I fix that I should be 100% fixed. They also told me fuel pressure is at 45. I got the car back redid the plug wire and routed it further away from the exhaust, drove it around and it felt much better but I could still see it have a pending code sometimes of the p0171. Drove the car later that night and it set the code again.

So today I checked the Air pump check valve that is hooked up to the driver side manifold and I can only blow through it one way....so thats working. But I am at a loss on how to diagnose this and really don't want to bring my car back to the shop since it seems they dont know. My next guess is to check the fuel injectors? Going to check if they leak while fuel pump is primed and then I guess I will switch them to the other side. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also I checked the spark plug for the #7 just to see if it was burnt out or anything and it looks fine to me. Other plugs look about the same.

seems it has something to do with the air smog check valve. Capped the check valve and the smog pump plumbing leading to the driver side and it seemed that solved my problem

I checked the passenger side hose and it had a small crack in it which made it puff air to the other side it seems. Hose looks on there correctly now and the smog line is pulling vacuum so looks like I can just reattach and I am good to go hopefully

might just leave the lines capped for a bit until I need to smog

Glad you found the issue. I figured it was just extra air getting into one of the manifolds.
