Default Converting a conventional sbc for lt1 heads

I was thinking of what would be needed to convert a conventional sbc block like dart lil m block to work with lt1 heads. I was reading a couple of threads of people doing it but no exact way how it was done. Also what would one use for a distributor for a conversion. I also read some older threads of dart producing some blocks but that never came through. Is there anymore talks of that happening. I would love to have a 434 lt1.

So, guess I will be the first, why choke a big motor with LT1 heads?

No joke, there are some really nice traditional SBC heads out there.

My friend converted Pontiac 867 heads to work on a lt1. Afr 227 should make 700 hp on pump gas. I made 675 hp with afr 235 and a 10.9 compression with a 434 and small cam. But back to my question what is needed to be done to a conventional sbc to work with lt1 heads.

My question to the OP is WHY, there are way more cylinder head choices that will fit a traditional SBC that flow way better?
Just buy the Dart Little M or the SHP Block and put any 23* sbc head you want then get an Edlebrock Victor E-EFI intake and a Nitrous Outlet LT1 elbow which will allow you to use any LT1 TB and keep your EFI.
Then just get a 24x ignition and volia 434 sbc that looks like an LT1 except for the water pump.

Also GMPP did produce some LT1 Race blocks which had 4.125" bores so you could build big inch LT1's, but good luck finding one.

Will a distributor fit without cutting up the cowl or having to remove the windshield wipers?

Can keep the wipers, I cut mine but needed it for air cleaner clearance with a carb. I cut a bunch of my cowl to make room for my distributor but didn't need to cut anywhere near as much as I did. Or do like "SS" said and go 24x conversion and run a crank trigger and coil packs.

My engine has an adjustable collar stub shaft that fits in the distributor hole and drives the oilpump.
