Default Basic tune for vortech supercharged lt1

hello all,
i have a 95 lt1 a4 vert trans am. I picked up a vortech v1 supercharger waaaayyy cheep.
I got it on the car but as of now am being pretty easy on it.
i am looking to “tune” the car a little with tuner cats. (I am a total beginner in this space)
car is basically stock it has 3” car back, vortech v1 supercharger fmu, vortech in line pump booster, crane cam hi-6r ignition. Boost gauge (about #5 is all I’m putting out now) wideband.
I’m in California 91+ is what I’m running,
timing is set to -1* per lb boost
(No intercooler or after cooler)
I do have 60 lbs injectors NOT YET installed still need to upgrade the the fuel pump. (where are y’all getting the walbro pumps at or a good price)
are there any things I should chance in my stock tune to help make it a little safer, it will be a few months before I can pick up a fuel pump for the injectors.

Photos would e great if y’all are useing c.a.t.s.

thanks in advance.

i picked the car up for 500 bucks runs pretty darn good. I will in a year or two build a motor for a little. just looking for some basic tune tips so I can enjoy driving the car on weekend for a while with out it just blowing up.

I'm by no means a pro at tuning a blown lt1 but I'm around 25° timing at 6k rpm at 100kpa in the extended timing tables. And I've got 9:1 forged pistons and intercooled. More fuel, less timing, have your fans kick in earlier, be conservative.

Timing mid to low 20s at 95-100kpa from 4000 to 6000. Don't rev over 6k if on a stock engine. Set the timing **** to zero and control timing with the tune. Crank the **** when you lend the car to a buddy.
Get rid of the pump booster and use the 60# injectors. Change injector constant to 60 in your tune.
Mid to low 11's AFR at WOT.
I would get a Racetronix fuel pump and hotwire kit as well as a methanol injection kit. I am assuming you are not intercooled.

i am sorry for the late response I tried to respond the message with some photos 2 times and it keep saying waiting on admin or something to approve. I completely agree with you abou the btm I do not trust it. My next purchase is the fuel pump an ditching fmu installing the injectors I have. My AFR looks good for now with the fmu at mid 11’s to hi 10 at wot. You are correct no intercooler or meth, (I’m thinking of adding meth looks pretty easily done and would add a layer of protection)

On turner cats to set the timing to mid to low 20’s @95-100 kpa 4000-6000 I believe I have found where to do so, it it called extended spark advance vs. rpm vs map (this is the photo Iv been trying to share here but won’t let me

the table cells show rpm from 4K to 7k in the left going down ( no sir I don’t go past 6k)
acrost the top cells show map (kpa) 25 to 100
the cells I would need to change are 95 and 100 kpa 4K to 7k
currentlu they are all set in the 95kpa 4-7k as follows 35, 35, 35, 35, 35, 36, 27

100 kpa 4-7k are set at 33, 33, 33, 33, 33, 36, 26

Please correct me if I am wrong but I should set those cells to say 24 to start and see how that goes, over time I could bump them up little at a time for better power?

I use LT1edit so it names differently but that sounds like it. 95-100KPA will be zero to positive manifold pressure which is boost. If you are non intercooled and on stock pistons I would 100% get a meth injection kit.
One thing to remember is that the PCM will add 3 degrees of timing (the famous mystery timing which I think is based on IATs). With you in a hot climate and non intercooled you might never see it. I'm in Canada and when I had no intercooler and meth I would only see the added timing in the fall when the temps were about 15 degrees or colder and dense air.
