LT4 Edlebrock intake HELP

LT4 Edlebrock intake HELP 
Hello everyone,
I have an lt4 Edelbrock air-gap intake. I need to install the EGR block off plates. I have the studs that went in the original LT1 intake manifold that I had used with the EGR block off plates previously. None of these original studs work with the lt4 Edelbrock air-gap intake. When I read the description in the summit catalog it says existing components of OEM intake should fit LT for Edelbrock air-gap intake. Has anyone experienced this problem? If you have any input please let me know I have been searching for the correct bolts over the past two days and cannot find anything that fits the lt4 Edelbrock air gap threads to hold the EGR block off plates on.

Take the intake to the local hardware store and match it up. Also, there are differences in bolt/plug/nipple sizes between OEM and Edelbrock - despite what they say. Save yourself some time and get all of the necessary parts with the Edelbrock intake under your arm in the bolt aisle. Also, get the correct intake gaskets - that thing will suck major air using FelPro's.

I've already installed the intake...and used 777 gaskets...

Well short of trial and error using various size/pitch bolts...you could tap the intake for a size you decide
ironic edelbrock could not advise WTF they did....somewhere in their files they would have the machine specs they used to make the manifold. This is not something a retailer would necessarily know as they directed you to

I know it's a real pain in the butt. I'll probably tap the intake this weekend though. I don't really want to spend the time doing it, but It looks like it's the best option in this circumstance. I'll just have to spend the time making sure it's done well.

I'd call Edelbrock. I honestly thought these were cut up/welded stock manifolds. On the bright side if you are blocking off the EGR valve side of the manifold you do not need a plate for the exhaust/passenger side. That port plumbs directly to the EGR port so if you block off the EGR, that exhaust port goes nowhere.

looks like the motor is on a stand. IDK if those holes are "blind" or go through into the intake. Drilling/tap thread would leave shavings inside if the hole is not blind. not good.
May be better to pick up a few sizes (SAE & Metric) studs to see WTF size hole/thread it is if the holes go into intake

Thank you. I don't believe any of the holes are blind....I don't think any of those holes go into the intake manifold.

if the holes are not blind....then they have to go "into" the manifold. look or stick a small screwdriver in hole to see if it is a blind (closed) hole. If open you will dump metal shavings inside the intake if you drill & tap it.

Back in 98 our local Impala SS club went to Edelbrock for a tour. Vic and his staff were great hosts. The LTx air gap was just coming out then which they showed. Sadly it proved to be no real performance improvement over the stock intake....or LT4 one

Stock egr bolts do work. Sorry guys I made a mistake. The OEM bolts actually do work with the edlebrock intake. I had to use a rachet to turn the studs into the intake. I guess the cut was so tight it literally took a rachet to drive the studs in. The studs had infact been cleaned from day one too. I was prepared to tap and heli coil the whole thing, and thought I was gonna strip the intake threads, but it worked!!!

Edelbrock has their own foundry. They cast the manifold themselves
