Default Catch can routing

I searched and found conflicting answers.

I have a TrickFlow catch-can set up. Vac to the can is supplied by the port below the MAF on the manifold, and then out of the can and to the PCV in the side of the manifold. However, I don't think this is where my oil residue in the intake is coming from. I think it originates from the pass valve cover which has a line going to the side of the throttle body. Should I move the set-up to manage that instead of the PCV?

Seems to be a few ways to skin this cat....

I've never used one, but I do believe the correct plumbing is from the breather tube on the pass. valve cover to the TB port, and it's not necessarily a vacuum port. It is neutral flowing, but when the engine does draw vacuum when decelerating oil vapors will go through that breather tube into the catch can.

From my findings and how i ran mine was you splice into the pcv line that goes from pcv and front port on intake under the tb. I mounted mine on the head

Driver side PCV port to inlet of CC, then outlet of CC to below the TB intake port is how I have mine. I catch plenty of crap in my Elite Engineering CC. I also have factory routed pipe on the passenger side VC to the passenger side of the TB.

You basically put the CC inline with the PCV routing.

This is how I have mine routed as well and it's how Mighty Mouse suggests doing it for their LT1 kit.
