E85 on NA 383 lt1
Also E85 doesn’t cause the gunk of injectors, it’s the reaction of oil mist on the TIPS of the injectors with E85. Run a good catch can to keep oil most out of your intake and it will take care of that as well. I’ve only had to clean my injector tips of gunk maybe twice over the 10 years.
It really is a no brainer to switch to E85 if it’s readily available in your area, the mileage argument is almost moot comparing 93 octane gas price to E85 price in most areas, as the spread is usually more than 30%. If modifying your engine with performance upgrades, fuel pump, injectors, and tune all need upgrading anyway, might as well just upgrade to a size injector that supports the E85 flow requirements, then it’s no extra cost.
I run E85 and have for more than a year. Twin Turbo 5.3L in a 95 Sonoma. 1,044 hp at 16lb boost! The water that most think is so bad keeps
the engine cool and knock free! Almost all fuel system parts made in the last 10 years are alcohol friendly! There are several countries like Brazil
where all you can buy is a E blend and they are getting better service from there vehecles! Alcohol burns cold and heat is the enemy of all engines
and transmissions! Here 93 oct is 3.45 gal. E85 is 2.05. Don't take a rocket scientist to figure it out! phase separation process, lol the sloshing keeps it mixed.
