97 Camaro Z28, Is The TH24x Conversion Worth It?
Miles - 75K
On my second opti and it is vented, no issues so far. Recently just did Nasty Z28 custom OTVC MSD 8.5 wires with Hi Temp Boots and Heat Sleeves last year PLUS install labor. Goals of the car is a complete UMI adjustable suspension (only missing a K-Member, Upper and Lower A-Arms).
Mods Wise Goals - LE custom cam, LE Ported heads stage 1 or stage 2 - Probably stage 2, 50-75 shot, shift kit, 3600 SS stall, built trans. Eventually have a nicely built 9in rear end.
Long Term Goal - Get a nice used 2002 Black Camaro SS M6 with low miles under 20k (prefer under 15k or less) and collect the two cars. The 97 being the 30th and the 02 being the 35th, wife and I want to cruise to car shows together and doing something my dad wished he did (kept his old muscle cars when he was a kid).
Opinion needed?
Car is currently schedule to go to a shop to get a tune at a shop and this is my issue I'm stuck with.
Tuning software for my car that I must provide the tuner is $400 plus like $300 for his time tuning some stuff out and editing, then there maybe an issue with the PCM that is in the car.
I'm really struggling with what exactly to do here. Should I bite the bullet and buy the JET DST for $400 then the time tuning for $300 plus any other issues or just put that money towards the Torque Head 24x conversion and then sell all my MSD OTVC wires and everything else, opti wise etc.
