Looking for input and someone who has installed a single plane intake with efi rails. Wanting to run a single plane intake on my street rod. It has a 95 Lt1. Looking for pics and and issues running different rails and throttle body. Any problems with tuning? Thanks
A few ways to do it.
1) Run a LT1 specific carb style intake and convert to fuel injection either via injector bungs and run an lt1 style throttle body. You will need to tune the stock PCM for the single plane.
2) Run a converted sbc to lt1 single plane intake with EFI bungs already installed and aftermarket rails. If you run an aftermarket EFI such as Holley or Fast you can convert to a normal sbc distributor and eliminate the opti.
I am running a converted sbc Accel pro ram EFI intake, rear mount MSD distributor, crank trigger, 4 bbl throttle body, and FAST XFI.
AFAIK, there is no way to do this without modifying parts.
You either modify a EFI ready SBC gen intake for the bolt pattern, or you modify the crappy LT1 single plane for injector bungs.
If you do not have a cam that requires really high RPM, a big shot of juice or a big *** blower that is moving a lot of air, you are wasting your time and money on a single plane.

Yup, now, I will say this. A modified SBC single plane does look nice in the engine bay
Here's my setup, it's an Edelbrock Victor E EFI intake that's been ported internally and the water neck removed it also has the LT1 bolt holes drilled. The engine isn't installed yet.not installed in the car yet.
What was the going rate to have a machine shop drill a sbc intake to fit Lt1 heads? Did you have to bring the heads or just intake gaskets to have them properly match it?
Decided to one a intake and found someone local to drill the holes. If I do the Victor EFI intake, which one will fit my heads better? One is for Vortec and other is for sbc. Can someone let me know which one I should get.
