Default Fuel pressure

Hello everyone,

I have a 383 LT1. I've got a walboro 255 fuel pump, 36lb injectors, and an areomotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator. With the engine off yesterday I turned the car to the on position and tested for fuel pressure. Fuel pressure was at 60 so I carefully lowered it down to 43. I noticed that after fuel pressure was hit and car was turned off the fuel pressure would drop about 10 points and very slowly trickle down from there to about 10. All fuel lines are hooked up. the fuel Vapor lines that run to the charcoal canister are not neither is the fuel Vapor line that comes off the fuel lines in the engine bay. Everything is new except the fuel injectors they are two years old, and the original fuel lines. Car ran great before with a stock fuel pressure regulator, but I wanted to make sure the fuel pressure regulator was as good as it could get, and could be modified if necessary that's why I bought the areomotive. I do not know much about fuel pressure excetera, but I did install the fuel pump(Racetronix Walboro 255) and I'm pretty sure I did an excellent job. Any help would be much appreciated thank you!

Most aftermarket fuel pressure regulators do not have the check valve to keep the pressure in the lines and will bleed off pressure when the pump shuts off. It is not big deal and pressure will return when you key on the fuel pump. The main thing that matters is steady, consistent, and correct fuel pressure.

the 43.5 psi for fuel pressure should be set with the vacuum line to FPR removed and plugged with engine running

My Aeromotive FPR was DOA so have had an adjustable Borg Warner on now for 20 years. YMMV
