Leaky injectors
I have a built 383 LT1. I went to a shop to have it chassis dyno tuned a week ago. A smoke test was run for vacuum leaks. Smoke was seeping out of a few injectors from where they meet the intake manifold. I have an Edelbrock RPM intake manifold. I have 36 lb injectors. So I took every injector out and replaced each O-ring on top and bottom with Mahle O-rings. I put it all back together. Today I went out with my own smoke machine and ran it like they did at the shop. Again I have some smoke seeping past at least three or four injectors where they meet the intake manifold. The only thing different about these injectors from stock injectors is I could not install the little metal locks that hold each original injector to the fuel rail. The new injectors don't allow me to attach them. Has anyone dealt with smoke passing the injector O-rings? I do not want my cylinders running lean. It is very very very frustrating to say the least. I am not sure what is causing this issue. Any help would be much appreciated I just want to drive my car!
