Default Torqhead conversion

Has anyone here that did the conversion made their own harness and used the 0411 pcm? I've been reading through the threads but it seems most have bought the kit with the pcm and extra plug for the lt1 harness. I swapped the LT1 in to my 3rd gen firebird so I stripped the LT1 harness down to integrate with my 3rd gen harness and was considering just adding the necessary wiring for the torquhead conversion and using a 0411 pcm i already have.

Has anyone gone this route? Does the torquhead pcm use a special tune ?

I'm just finishing up my TorqHead 24x on my 1997 Z28 and I'll help you with what I can!

I bought the works kit with the valve cover mounted coils. It was $1635.99 shipped out the door! If you are making your own harness and using a standard 0411 PCM, I wouldn't go TorqHead 24x as the benefit of TH is the ability to use the stock harness and able to revert back easily, well that and having the custom made PCM from Paul at TH.

If making your own harness I'd go with the BP automotive harness and grab the EFI kit / repin your 0411 PCM.

The PCM gives you the tuning abilities of an LS but still tunes like an LT.

I looked at the EFI connection stuff however I would have to get the timing cover kit (my engine is a 95) which significantly increases the price vs the torqhead signal only kit.

What i was considering doing was adding the crankshaft sensor wiring, camshaft sensor wiring and coil wiring to the harness i'm making. Then buying the torqhead signal kit (hub and sensors only). Then repinning the PCM connectors to use the 0411 connector/PCM. I already have the pcm and its licensed to my hp tuner system. Then adding my own coils/mounts.

I guess basically my main concerns were, Will the torqhead work on a standard 0411 pcm vs the torqhead pcm. Does the torqhead pcm use a special OS that isnt available for the standard 0411 pcm

As far as I know the TH pcm is just a repinned 0411 that allows you to use the stock wiring harness. I honestly think your setup would work, i'd ask paul at th for sure!

You would be doing the original 24x setup by EFIconnection, nothing more.

Pin the sensors correctly and thats it. Not that hard and you are not locked into a PCM like the torqhead guys.
