Potential need/value
So I’ve recently acquired some supposed LE LT1 gen II heads
they seem nicely ported with Ferrea 6000 valves and 918 beehive springs
they came from an engine which shattered a piston and the lone intake valve
which got bent proceeded to break the guide off in the bowl
needs a guide and valve. The seat looks fine and the chamber isn’t too beat up
my questions are; what are these worth as is compared to fixed and ready to run ??
and. Are these even sought after anymore since it’s now 22 years since these engines
were last produced
I also got a camshaft with BRE/LE. G 9035-06 on the end
its in great shape. Seems to have .570”/.563” lift. Guessing roughly 224/230@.050”
but not sure exactly. Might just list that in the classifieds ultra cheap.
Mystery stick.
Needs guide Seat touched.
Anyone recognize this work ???

There have been issues with those cams in the past for overly aggressive ramp rates causing valvetrain damage and cracked valve guides. It wouldn’t surprise me if the cam was responsible for the damage. If it were me I’d throw that **** away and find a different cam. My guess is it’s ultra cheap because nobody wants it and there are better options.

My LE heads have “LE2” and IIRC even my name stamped on them. Check the front and rear faces of the heads for some sort of stamping.
My BRE/LE cam is a 224/230 .574”/.570 (I think) on a 107. What you have could potentially be that but I just don’t recall what markings are on the end of it to verify.

Cool. Thanks for the responses guys. I listed that cam for $75 bucks and would prolly
even eat shipping if someone wanted it. If I could clean these heads and invest a hundred
bucks or so to sell them for a few hundred then I might. I just don’t need to spend a few hundred
to sit on them forever because no one builds these anymore
the heads are painted so I’ll have to look closely at the ends for verification being LE

So I called LE today and he was super informative. Told me these heads although having no markings could still be his since he never began permanent identification until 2008 and this BRE cam is 2006 era. So his suggestion was to call Comp Cams and they “seemed” to think its at least a 230/236 but could be a 236/244.
I guess I was kinda hoping it was a 224/230 and it might be but who knows unless it gets “doctored”.
I went on the Comp website and focused on older lobe families from pre 2007 era.
The 106 LSA means it’s prolly a nasty ****** and supposedly this F body went 10.60-10.80 range on a 150 shot.

Yeah I have a set of le2 heads that have no markings. The cam in the engine was a le 3.2. But this engine was built around 2005. Was a nice pick and pull find. But to bad the engine had a spun cam bearing and was not getting oil threw the engine.
