Default 95 lt1 dtc 15 & 48

95 lt1 Camaro
142K

I pulled codes using SCAN9495 DTC 15 and 48
15 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit (signal voltage high, low temperature indicated)
48 Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor circuit

Check engine light is on car us hard to start. also both cooling fans run all the time. I can clear the codes and the fan turns off but it the CEL light come back right away.

long story short I didn't have the CEL but I took the MAF and intake out o the car when I did spark plugs, wires, igniton coil. when I put everything back together I had the code. I have tried 2 different MAFs one was brand new. but it didn't fix.

Can someone give me advice on how to troubleshoot this problem?

**Solved, it was the temp sensor pigtail. **

Coolant temp could be the sensor or wiring on the water pump. Check for the wiring and see if its brittle or cracked. Pull the connector from the sensor and check for corrosion. That engine code will cause hard starts. Maf code is likely the sensor.

I changed the coolant temp sensor recently, the old plug was broken. I had the code before and after I changed it but I will check the harness and plug.

**just checked my log and it says coolant temp is -40. that could be a problem

Found the issue.

I checked the plug and it was corroded. I used some MAF cleaner and a wire brush bc that what I had laying around. tested it but it still didn't work. I just happened to have a 2 wire sensor pigtail so I put it on and check it and t works! fires right up. no more check engine light. I guess the old pig tail was wore out.
