Should make 290-310 with full bolt-ons and a stock cam.
I had a 1999 Suburban 5.7 Vortec with a 95 LT1 F-car cam, 1.6 rockers, ported lower intake, 1 5/8" long tubes, dual 2.25" exhaust, Volant CAI, electric fans, and a tune put down 290 rwhp in 2nd gear. Hot cam would have added 30 rwhp to that setup and the truck intake has longer runners and the L31 is a full point less compression.

I have seen the B-car come close to 300 RWHP numerous times as well. They had a full point less compression with the iron heads and a smaller cam than the aluminum head motors too.
I tuned a F-car that had a Moroso intake, long tubes, exhaust with a off-road Y, valve springs, and 1.7 rockers that made 315 RWHP/350RWTQ through a locked converter A4.
My buddies 97 A4 made 270 rwhp STOCK and ran a 13.2 @ 102.

I guess I could see it if he had a lt4

Crank rating was 305 hp in that 97 and it has been proven by multiple stock rebuilds a LT1 made more than its 300 hp Vette crank rating in ALL applications.
Another friend of mine with a low mileage 1992 LB9 305 TPI/5spd 3.45 gear G92 car that was also bone stock went 13.9 @ 99 that night at the track.
We were also running with a girl that was racing a 1997 Firebird A4 with a catback and Moroso intake that ran a 13.4 @ 101.
LT1s are stronger than most people care to believe.
Super Chevy built a stone stock LT1 and it made about 350 HP and 380 TQ on an engine dyno dyno with long tubes.
A B-car with an 8.5" rear end loses 18% through the driveline. A F-car 1-2% less with its smaller and lighter 7.5" rear and lighter driveshaft.
My 94Z28 A4 with MAC headers, exhaust, CAI, 1.7 Roller Rockers, underdrive pulley and a tune made 297RWHP.
Uh.....no.
With all the bolt-ons, stock heads and going through a 4L60 trans......he's looking at 310HP to the wheels.....tops.

Im hoping to be around 320rw+ with my 215/224 cam, 1.6 RR'S, EWP, 1 5/8 Mac Mids, no cats, magnaflow catback. This car is a m6 trans though.
Also ppl don't give a lot of thought to tire size, a big 315 rear tire will rob more rwhp than a stock 245 tire.
But no way in hell is a 218/228 hot cam with a 215cfm stock lt1 head on a stock shortblock gonna make 425fwhp.

I'll stand by what I've done, seen, experienced over the past 22 years of dealing with the Hot cam kit versus what you claim.
